Real Madrid are set to travel to the United States for their big pre-season tour later today.

The Merengues have made it a tradition to have America as their pre-season destination in recent years, and in the process, have built up a sizeable following in the country.

With the Euros and Copa America running deep into July, Carlo Ancelotti will be without several first-team stars for the upcoming tour. That, however, is not expected to dampen the enthusiasm in any manner.

Massive economic inflow

As revealed in a recent update via AS, the ticket sales for Real Madrid’s three pre-season friendlies are going through the roof.

For the team’s first clash against AC Milan in Chicago, only about 5,000 tickets of a total of 61,500 are available. The fever in New Jersey for El Clasico is even higher with 5,000 seats available of a total capacity of 82,500.

Real Madrid’s clash against Chelsea has seen relatively slower ticket sales, but even that game has just 7,000 unsold tickets left of a possible 75,000 seats.

The Spanish outlet further adds that Los Blancos are set to garner €12 million in revenue from their tour in the US in addition to all the indirect income produced by events.

It is, thus, unsurprising to see Los Blancos opt for the USA year after year, especially given the massive brand value the club enjoys in America.

Big stars in action

Real Madrid indeed will be without the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham and others for the upcoming tour.

However, some key names including Thibaut Courtois, Antonio Rudiger, Luka Modric and Endrick will be available from the very beginning.

Moreover, Brazilian stars including Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo and Eder Militao are also expected to return in time for El Clasico, setting up a power-packed team.
