A few days ago, The Athletic’s Mario Cortegana reported that Kylian Mbappé still intends to play in the summer games. However, a new report sees the 25-year-old’s chances of winning a gold medal in his hometown decreasing.

Mbappé is reportedly heading to Real Madrid once his contract with the Parisians expires. Recently, the Spanish giants confirmed to the French Football Federation that they would not give up Eduardo Camavinga or Ferland Mendy for the Olympics.

Still, with the Paris Saint-Germain superstar, it’s a different case since he probably has the Olympic games as a topic in negotiations with the Spanish giants.

Nonetheless, journalist Abdellah Boulma reports that the chances of seeing Mbappé participate in the Olympics are decreasing. The French international has not reached an agreement with Real Madrid, who continues to be intransigent.

As a result, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner will have to determine how much he wants to compete to win a gold medal in his hometown. Is that something he can live without, or does he intend to maintain his interest in playing in the 2024 Euros and Olympics?
