La Liga giants Real Madrid have sewn up a deal for the latest high-profile addition to the club’s first-team ranks.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Franco Mastantuono as the player in question.

Youngster Mastantuono’s name has of course dominated the headlines in Spain’s capital across the week to date.

This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the Santiago Bernabéu brass had reignited their long-term pursuit of the River Plate sensation.

After Paris Saint-Germain emerged as sudden contenders for Mastantuono, Real Madrid sprung into action, to retake the lead in the race for a player considered South American football’s next breakout star.

And as alluded to above, on Sunday, Los Blancos appear to have landed their man.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of the aforementioned Fabrizio Romano that a deal is now in place between Real and River:

‘Franco Mastantuono to Real Madrid, here we go! Argentinian top talent will join Madrid on six-year deal. $45m fee to be paid in installments.’

River Plate remain hopeful of Florentino Pérez and co. granting Mastantuono permission to feature for the Argentine heavyweights at the upcoming Club World Cup.
