A fresh insight into the wellbeing of Real Madrid star David Alaba has come to the fore on Thursday.

And the news will no doubt be met with a collective sigh of relief on the part of all associated with the capital giants.

The name of defender Alaba, of course, took its place back front and centre in the headlines in Madrid earlier this week.

As much came after it was revealed that the former Bayern Munich standout had flown to his home country of Austria, to see an injury specialist.

The trip was attributed to concerns that Alaba’s recovery from an ACL tear late last year was not progressing as hoped, with the 31-year-old having fallen behind in his efforts towards a comeback.

If the latest word stemming from the media on Thursday is anything to go by, however, then this could not be further from the truth.

As revealed by the reliable Guillermo Rai of The Athletic, Alaba’s recovery, in fact, is going better than was initially forecast.

Whilst there is no ‘rush’ in getting the experienced stopper back on the pitch, it is confirmed that:

‘Latest tests and analysis in Innsbruck have revealed that David Alaba’s recovery is going well and that he could be training with the ball sooner than expected.’
