According to AS, Real Madrid’s rising star Gonzalo Garcia has earned himself a place in the first-team squad for the 2025/26 season.
The 21-year-old forward has impressed both manager Xabi Alonso and the club’s leadership with his performances, making him one of the standout players during the FIFA Club World Cup.
Gonzalo has truly grabbed his opportunity at the perfect moment. He has scored three goals and provided one assist in four Club World Cup matches, including the decisive goal in Real Madrid’s recent 1-0 victory over Juventus.
His efforts have come at a crucial time for Los Blancos, who were considering signing a traditional center-forward this summer, someone who could bring what Joselu offered so effectively.
However, Gonzalo’s form seems to have settled that debate for now.
So far, Gonzalo has featured in 10 senior matches, netting four goals for the first team. His timing could not have been better, as Madrid’s transfer plans have been on hold while the Club World Cup takes center stage.

But thanks to his impressive displays, it looks like the club has found the striker they needed within their own academy.
It remains to be seen whether Gonzalo is happy to accept a supporting role in the squad. This is because Endrick will also compete for minutes next season.
But regardless of the competition, Gonzalo has already shown enough quality and maturity to earn Xabi Alonso’s trust.
This breakthrough offers a promising sign for Real Madrid’s future. Instead of spending big on another forward, the club can focus on strengthening other areas of the squad, knowing they have a reliable option in Gonzalo.
For the player himself, it is a dream come true and a chance to cement his place among the stars at the Santiago Bernabeu.
