According to a report from Fichajes, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has made a firm decision regarding centre-back Jesus Vallejo. It has been decided that the player will be sold during the January transfer window.

This follows a disappointing performance by Vallejo in a recent match against Alaves, where his display on the pitch raised concerns. As a result, Perez has communicated his decision to head coach Carlo Ancelotti, who no longer sees Vallejo as part of his plans.

From now on, the defender will not feature in the squad unless there is an extreme emergency.

Real Madrid will not count on Vallejo

Although Vallejo’s contract with Real Madrid runs until June 2025, the club is determined to move him on as early as January.

Despite the remaining duration of his contract, the board is willing to let him leave without demanding any financial compensation, provided a suitable offer comes in for the player.

However, there is a concern over the limited interest in Vallejo, largely due to his lack of regular playing time with the Madrid team. This makes finding a new club a bit more challenging.

Ancelotti has seen enough

Ancelotti has taken a decisive stance following the Alaves match. He has made it clear that there will be no more opportunities for Vallejo to prove himself.

If there is ever a shortage in the defensive lineup, the coach will prioritise reserve players or even consider other first-team members like Aurelien Tchouameni or Dani Carvajal, instead of turning to Vallejo.

Real Madrid’s intentions are clear: they want Vallejo to find a new club in January. If that does not happen, his future at the club is already sealed. Ancelotti has no plans for him, and his last match in a Real Madrid shirt likely occurred in that ill-fated game against Alaves.
