This week, reports have emerged of Al Ahli’s interest in signing Vinicius Junior. They are willing to make the Real Madrid superstar the most expensive player in history, while also paying him incredibly handsomely – much more than he currently earns in the Spanish capital.

Real Madrid have no interest in selling Vinicius, despite reports that Al Ahli are willing to offer €400m to get a deal done. As reported by Marca, a sale would only take place if the Brazilian’s release clause, which stands at €1bn, were to be triggered.

Real Madrid do not expect Al Ahli to come close to paying this amount, although it cannot be ruled out completely. Even if they were to pay the release clause, it could be very difficult to tempt Vinicius away – he’s at his dream club, and is one of the best players in the world.

It remains to be seen how this situation plays out, but the expectation is that the story should advance as the week goes on. For now, Real Madrid are relaxed – and confident of keeping Vinicius right where he is.
