In the face of Vinicius Jr.’s injury, Real Madrid are expected to enter into the transfer market in January, but if a report from AS is to be believed, the team from the Spanish capital is not counting on any new arrivals mostly likely because club president Florentino Perez does not like winter deals.

Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic and Galatasaray frontman Mauro Icardi are currently linked with Real Madrid, but a move for any of the two is extremely unlikely.

It is to be noted that Carlo Ancelotti only has three forwards at his disposal at the moment, namely, Brahim Diaz, Joselu, and Rodrygo.

Regardless of this, though, Perez is not in favour of signing any new player, although it must be remembered that there have been instances in the past when the president has gone against this idea.

Challenges in Vlahovic deal

Vlahovic is thought to be one option Real Madrid were exploring. At this moment, Juventus are in a challenging financial situation, seeking income to overcome the ongoing trouble.

As far as Vlahovic is concerned, though, the team from Turin invested more than €80 million in the forward and it goes without saying that they would want to recover the amount.

Marcos Leonardo, Mauro Icardi and Santi Gimenez

Marcos Leonardo of Santos FC is the latest name to be linked with Real Madrid. So far, we have reported that several Premier League teams are vying for his acquisition, and although nothing concrete has been put forward, he continues to orbit on Madrid’s radar.

As for Icardi, he has been a great signing for Galatasaray, and considering his current run of form, he could be a coup but Real Madrid do not want to get involved in his troubled personal life.

Another name linked with the record European champions is a certain Santi Gimenez of Feyenoord, who has scored 38 goals in 60 appearances for the Dutch team.

A representative claiming to speak on his behalf has relayed Madrid’s interest in the past, despite his denial of any connection. At this moment, every news related to Gimenez is a baseless rumour.
