The signings of Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold have already been completed and progress is being made in pursuit of Alvaro Carreras.

A top midfielder is also on the agenda now, especially with the club confirming the departure of Luka Modric earlier this week.

As reported earlier, Manchester City ace Rodri is at the top of the Merengues’ wishlist but there are some concerns due to his recent long-term absence due to an ACL rupture.

Alexis Mac Allister will cost big bucks

Another player on Real Madrid’s agenda to bolster the midfield department, according to AS, is Liverpool and Argentina ace Alexis Mac Allister.

The 26-year-old midfielder has been a major hit at Anfield since arriving from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2023.

Real Madrid are big admirers of the 2022 World Cup winner with Argentina and see him as an option to strengthen their midfield department.

However, signing Mac Allister from Liverpool will be anything but easy for Los Blancos as the Premier League champions see him as a valuable player and will demand at least around €90 million in transfer fees in case there are negotiations.

Furthermore, the relationship between Real Madrid and Liverpool is seemingly not at its best due to the Alexander-Arnold deal.

As such, a transfer this summer for the 26-year-old midfielder, whose contract with the English heavyweights runs until 2028, might be difficult to pull off.

Cheaper alternatives like Angelo Stiller or Hugo Larsson are being considered as alternatives by Real Madrid as they get set for a new era under Xabi Alonso.
