Real Madrid have been heavily active in the summer transfer window, making as many as four first-team signings in Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen, Franco Mastantuono, and Alvaro Carreras.

Meanwhile, there have also been some departures – most notably Luka Modric and Lucas Vazquez, while a number of youngsters have also bid goodbye.

There has been talk of more signings, with Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso said to have asked for a new midfielder and possibly another centre-back.

Real Madrid will only consider new signings if there are exits

However, according to Rodra on ESPN, the message coming from Real Madrid is that there will be no fresh incomings unless there are departures.

The two likeliest candidates to leave the Santiago Bernabeu in the coming weeks are Rodrygo and Dani Ceballos – both of whom seem to be out of favour under new manager Xabi Alonso.

After all, neither the forward nor the midfielder played regularly at the FIFA Club World Cup in the USA.

As such, both Rodrygo and Ceballos might still leave Real Madrid and if one or both of the players depart, Los Blancos will re-enter the market for new signings.

Ceballos, for his part, is being linked with a move back to his former club, Real Betis, although his salary makes a deal difficult.

As for Rodrygo, the Brazilian attacker is on the radars of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool.

If either one of them ends up calling time on their stint at Real Madrid, the Spanish giants plan to make new signings. But in case there are no more exits, signings are unlikely.
