At the same time, some exits are also on the cards, with Luka Modric one of the players primed to leave while there remains an air of uncertainty surrounding the future of Nacho Fernandez.

Real Madrid to count on Rafa Marin

Amidst all this, Real Madrid appear set to welcome a homegrown talent into the first-team fold for the next season.

Indeed, as per AS, Real Madrid plan on counting on young defender Rafa Marin as part of the senior setup in the upcoming campaign.

Marin, 21, has been with Real Madrid for almost eight years now, having joined the club’s youth academy from Sevilla in 2016.

After enjoying a strong stint with Castilla over the past couple of years, the young Spaniard joined Deportivo Alaves on loan during the summer.

Marin has performed well at the La Liga club, racking up 29 appearances in all competitions, and showing that he is ready to step up at this level.

As such, he will be brought into the first-team setup at the Santiago Bernabeu for next season.

Stiff competition for places

While the plan is to bring Marin into the senior squad, the youngster will have serious competition for places in the team.

After all, Carlo Ancelotti already has Eder Militao, Antonio Rudiger, and David Alaba as his frontline central defenders. Beyond that, Nacho could also decide to renew and stay at the club.

And as mentioned earlier, Real Madrid are also working to sign Yoro from Lille. So, it remains to be seen how things shape up as far as Marin and his future are concerned.
