Rachad Fettal
Rachad Fettal, a promising 20-year-old forward, has joined the giants of Real Madrid from Almería. Discover who this talented young Moroccan is.
Born in Torre Pacheco (Murcia), Spain, but of Moroccan descent, Rachad Fettal has chosen to represent Morocco on the international stage. He currently features with the Atlas Lions’ U20 squad, after a brief stint with Spain's U17 national team.
Despite his young age, Fettal has already tasted La Liga action, making his Spanish First Division debut on December 3, 2023, against Betis. This season, although he was officially part of Almería’s reserve team, he was brought into the senior squad by coach Rubi. He played 19 matches in all competitions, netting once against Eibar, despite limited minutes due to fierce competition from Luis Suárez and a knee injury in January that slowed his progress.
Standing at 1.84 meters, Fettal is a mobile striker, capable of scoring from quick moves or contributing to play away from goal, much like Luis Suárez, to whom he is often compared. Observers particularly praise his selflessness, relentless work rate, and his willingness to fight for every ball—qualities that fit perfectly into Arbeloa’s high-intensity system.
Real Madrid have been tracking Fettal since the summer of 2024 and finally seem to have convinced Almería to let him go. He is expected to sign a three-year contract with Castilla.
