Takefusa Kubo is ready to quit Villarreal in January.

The Japan midfielder is on-loan at Villarreal this season from Real Madrid, but has seen little action under coach Unai Emery.

Kubo, 19, has managed 13 appearances for the Yellow Submarine this season, though Emery has used the attacker primarily off the bench. This is in contrast to his loan with Real Mallorca the previous season where he was a regular starter.

Kubo joined Real Madrid last year from FC Tokyo, signing a deal to 2024 before he was immediately loaned to Real Mallorca.

El Periódico Mediterráneo via AS says Kubo is seriously considering a change of scenery.

Though it's a possibility that right now has not been transferred to the Castellón club, where sources claim to have "no request from anyone to study a possible departure for the player".

However, it's suggested Kubo's camp are now seeking to place him at a new club in January where he can be guaranteed a start.
