With the final week of the summer transfer window upon us, there may be some late movement at Real Madrid – most probably related to player exits.
One of the players tipped to leave the club before the transfer window closes is midfielder Dani Ceballos, who does not feature in a major role in Xabi Alonso’s plans.
The Spaniard himself hinted at the possibility of an exit with his social media post on Sunday night after the team’s win over Real Oviedo.
Since then, it has emerged that Marseille are interested in signing Ceballos before the transfer window closes.
Building on that, MARCA reports that Ceballos is indeed in negotiations with Marseille over a potential transfer in the coming days.
No agreement has yet been reached between the Ligue 1 outfit and Real Madrid, and talks are expected to continue over the coming hours and days.
Furthermore, Rodra of ESPN reports that the transfer fee Real Madrid are expecting for Ceballos is around €15-20 million. However, the alternative of a loan move including an obligation to buy is also under discussion.

So far, Real Madrid have not received a concrete offer for the 29-year-old, but everything suggests that he could be on his way out of the Santiago Bernabeu in the coming days.
Should the deal be completed, Ceballos would bring to an end a turbulent spell at Real Madrid that began with his arrival in the summer of 2017.
After two seasons in which he barely featured, the midfielder moved to Arsenal on loan, where he played 77 matches and rediscovered his best form.
Returning in 2021, Ceballos experienced mixed fortunes but seized opportunities when available under Carlo Ancelotti.
The arrival of Alonso has once again relegated him to the margins. He has played only four minutes across the opening two league matches against Osasuna and Oviedo, after featuring for just 70 minutes across four matches in the FIFA Club World Cup.
