Real Madrid have all but sealed their marquee signing for the summer of 2024, with Kylian Mbappe expected to join as a free agent with his contract at PSG expiring.

The 25-year-old will be joined by Endrick, whom the Merengues signed from Palmeiras in December 2022 itself and will welcome to the squad in the summer once he turns 18.

But the planning for the next year already appears to be underway as Real Madrid have seemingly identified their next big target for 2025.

Real Madrid want Florian Wirtz in 2025

Indeed, as per BILD, Real Madrid are eyeing Bayer Leverkusen and Germany whizkid Florian Wirtz as a target for the summer of 2025.

The 20-year-old is regarded as one of the finest young talents in the game and is enjoying a spectacular campaign under Xabi Alonso.

Wirtz has racked up a return of eight goals and 16 assists from 30 matches in all competitions as Die Werkself sit atop the Bundesliga table and are undefeated in the UEFA Europa League and the DFB-Pokal.

Wirtz has been linked with Real Madrid in the past as well, and while the interest is retained, the 20-year-old is seen as a target for 2025.

However, the report states that Liverpool and Manchester City are also very keen on signing Wirtz and they might see him as an option for this year itself.

With Jurgen Klopp leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, the Reds are looking at Xabi Alonso as a replacement for the German. And there is a feeling that the 20-year-old could follow his Bayer Leverkusen manager to Anfield in the summer.

As for Manchester City, Pep Guardiola sees Wirtz as a potential successor for creator-in-chief Kevin De Bruyne, who will be 33 in the summer and has been battling injury problems in recent times.

The report states that Leverkusen would demand around €130 million for their prized jewel, who currently earns around €7.5 million-a-year in wages.
