Real Madrid face Juventus this evening in a FIFA Club World Cup clash between European football royalty.
The Spanish side progressed as group winners despite opening with a draw against Al-Hilal. Wins over Pachuca and Red Bull Salzburg booked the record five-time winners a place in the Round of 16.
Juventus finished as runners-up to Manchester City in the group stage. The Old Lady thrashed Al-Ain and Wydad AC in their opening two fixtures before a heavy defeat to the now-eliminated Citizens.
Juventus are bidding to become just the third Italian side to win the Club World Cup this summer.
Kylian Mbappe could return to the bench for Real Madrid tonight. The French forward is yet to feature in the tournament due to illness but has returned to training this week. Mbappe was hospitalised last month with gastroenteritis.
Xabi Alonso’s list of absentees includes David Alaba, Dani Carvajal, Eduardo Camavinga, Endrick and Ferland Mendy. However, Antonio Rudiger’s withdrawal against Salzburg was precautionary. Fellow defender Eder Militao is also in contention to make the squad.
Real Madrid predicted XI: Courtois; Tchouameni, Rudiger, Huijsen; Alexander-Arnold, Bellingham, Guler, Valverde, F Garcia; Vinicius, G Garcia.
