Real Madrid will enter Saturday afternoon’s La Liga clash with relegation-threatened Cadiz knowing that a victory could be enough to see them crowned La Liga champions with four games to spare.

If Los Blancos beat 18th-placed Cadiz, Carlo Ancelotti’s side would win the title if second-placed Barcelona fail to win against third-placed Girona later in the day. However, regardless of the weekend’s results, Real Madrid seem to be destined for their 36th league title.

Heading into this crucial fixture, Real Madrid boast an impressive record of twenty-six wins, six draws, and only one defeat in the league. Their offensive capabilities, highlighted by 71 goals scored, coupled with a solid defense conceding just 22 goals, have been significant in their commanding position atop the table.

The Merengues face Cadiz, who are battling to avoid relegation and are currently sitting 18th in the standings. Despite Cadiz’s fight for survival, they have struggled to secure wins, managing only four victories in their 33 league matches this season.

In terms of team news, Real Madrid will welcome back Thibaut Courtois, who is set to make his first appearance of the season. The Belgian international needed an operation after tearing the cruciate ligament in his left knee during a training session in August 2023 and spent seven months on the sidelines before a return to team training in March 2024.

He was just about to make a comeback when he sustained a knee injury during a training session on March 19 that kept him out of action for an additional six weeks. While David Alaba remains sidelined, Dani Carvajal’s return from suspension adds depth to the squad.

Ancelotti might make drastic changes in light of the impending Champions League semi-final second-leg clash with Bayern Munich, providing players like Eder Militao, Fran Garcia, Arda Guler, Brahim Diaz, Dani Ceballos, and Joselu a chance to shine.

However, the Submarino Amarillo will be without key players like Fede San Emeterio, Jose Mari, Romingue Kouame, Jorge Mere, and Luis Hernandez because of injuries. This presents a challenge for Mauricio Pellegrino’s side as they strive to secure crucial points in their battle against relegation.

Cadiz have struggled throughout the season, and their recent form is not that good either. While the away side will go all out as they look to survive the drop, they still might not have enough to take Los Blancos down.

Real Madrid are heading into this game on the back of a draw against Bayern Munich. But they have been in sensational form throughout the league campaign, and even if they make numerous changes to their XI, they are still expected to come out on top here, which could see them win the La Liga title on Saturday.
