Luka Modric is clearly unhappy with his role at Real Madrid this season. The Croatian international renewed with the Merengues earlier this year hoping to continue playing at the highest level, but has seen the opposite effect with reduced playing time.

It appears well-accepted that this will be Modric’s final season at the club. At 38 years of age, there is a limit to his longevity and he could thus move to a lower-rated league next term.

Inter Miami want the midfielder

According to reports from Florian Plettenberg, Inter Miami are heavily interested in signing Modric next summer. David Beckham is in on the idea and even Lionel Messi is said to be pushing for it.

The deal is still in its infancy, but the Croatian wizard is close to leaving Real Madrid in 2024. After all, Modric has offers from Croatia, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar to consider as well.

The report goes on to add that Modric is currently unperturbed by the reports. He is completely focused on winning back his starting spot at Real Madrid and playing at the highest level.

A possible start tonight?

Modric has played no part in Real Madrid’s last two games, failing to come off the bench on both occasions.

Word has it that the Croatian magician will be called upon tonight as Los Blancos hope to conquer Napoli at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

Back in the UEFA Champions League, all eyes will be on Modric if he indeed starts. After all, the magician has always been one to shine under pressure.

Modric will likely start alongside Eduardo Camavinga as an interior. Aurelien Tchouameni will be the defensive midfielder on the night with Jude Bellingham occupying the apex of the diamond midfield.
