Real Madrid continued their winning momentum by securing a comfortable 3-0 victory over Girona on Saturday.
However, the win was overshadowed by a late incident that led to the red card of Nacho Fernandez.
The veteran centre-back made a nasty tackle on Portu. The refereeing had initially awarded a yellow card, but later reverted it to a straight red.
A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has offered a detailed inspection of the tackle, suggesting that Nacho could be in contention to face a four-match suspension.
This is because the nature of the challenge on Portu was quite dangerous, with the player requiring medical assistance on the spot.
A four-match suspension could see Nacho miss out on crucial matches against Osasuna, Sevilla and Rayo Vallecano.

But more importantly, he will be unavailable for the upcoming El Clasico against Barcelona, leaving Carlo Ancelotti with very few options in central defence.
Real Madrid had lost Eder Militao to a serious injury earlier in the summer. More recently, the club had to deal with an injury to another key defender David Alaba.
Providing Nacho Fernandez receives a four-man suspension, it will leave Ancelotti with Antonio Rudiger as the only proven option in central defence against Barcelona.
If Ancelotti is to rely on experience, Ferland Mendy could be a potential option. The same can be said for Aurelien Tchouameni, but the two are makeshift options at best.
From the academy, Alvaro Carrillo and Marvel are exciting options, though their lack of experience could be problematic against a side like Barcelona.
