Real Madrid have a number of players whose contracts expire at the end of the ongoing season, whose futures are yet to be resolved.
Nacho Fernandez looks certain to leave the club when his deal expires on June 30, while Toni Kroos is expected to sign a new deal and continue.
Only a while ago, reports emerged claiming that Luka Modric will not be staying at the Santiago Bernabeu even though it was suggested recently that the midfielder could continue.
Now, there is an update on the situation of another veteran star in the form of Lucas Vazquez.
As per journalist Ramon Alvarez, Lucas Vazquez and Real Madrid have reached an agreement to renew the versatile defender’s contract by one more year.
Vazquez has proven himself to be a more than handy alternative at right-back this season, delivering clutch performances each time he has been called upon.

Carlo Ancelotti has been impressed by the versatile right-back’s contributions and the player himself feels valued at the club.
As such, it is now being claimed that Vazquez has agreed a new one-year deal with Real Madrid and will continue at the Bernabeu until 2025.
Given that he was set to become a free agent, Vazquez had plenty of interest in his services, particularly from Italian giants Juventus.
However, the 32-year-old is understood to have rejected an offer from the Bianconeri in order to prolong his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu for one more season.
