Real Madrid have every right to feel hard done by referees in recent games, be it having an opposition player go unscathed for a clear red card foul or having their own player sent off for something he uttered in the heat of the moment.
Jude Bellingham’s red card, needless to say, had the offices at Valdebebas fired up for many in the club believed that the youngster did not deserve anything close to a red card for what he said on the field.
The referee on the night, Munuera Montero, states that Bellingham said ‘f*** you’ to him but the player and the club stand by the fact that he said ‘f*** off’ which is not personally targeted at any individual.
Los Blancos appealed for Bellingham’s red card to be overturned, but the Competition Committee ruled earlier today that he would be suspended for two games.
As relayed in a recent update by MARCA, Real Madrid’s plan to convey their stance on the situation and the effort they put in are amusing, to say the least.
The Spanish outlet bring to light that Los Blancos went to every possible extreme to save the midfielder from his suspension, including digging up videos of club legend Cristiano Ronaldo explaining the difference between ‘f*** you’ and ‘f*** off’.

As a player who spent several years of his career in England, the Portuguese legend once spoke to Jose Pedrerol about the difference between the two terms and how the former is very common in England as a means of expressing dissatisfaction.
The Merengues hoped that the authorities in question would see their stance and understand that Bellingham, as a player born and brought up in England, unsurprisingly still reacted to challenging situations the way it was common in his land.
The Competitions Committee, however, ruled against Los Blancos as they did not get sufficient evidence to confirm that Bellingham did indeed say ‘f*** off’, and there is not much Real Madrid’s sincere efforts could do in that case.
Nevertheless, Florentino Perez and Co. will appeal to overturn the two-game ban and it remains to be seen what comes of it.
