Paris Saint-Germain have focused on bringing in young, emerging talent in recent transfer windows. However, Luis Enrique and Luis Campos understand that experience is equally important—provided it fits within the club’s culture and playing style.

One area they may look to strengthen is defense, particularly with Milan Skriniar expected to leave permanently this summer after his loan move to Fenerbahçe.

Rather than going for a big-money signing, PSG could consider a short-term deal with a familiar face. Virgil van Dijk is nearing the end of his contract, and reports indicate that PSG are keeping an eye on the Liverpool captain.

According to a previous report from Anfield Watch, PSG are preparing an €80 million offer for Van Dijk over two years, with an option for a third. A significant signing bonus could push the total value to €100 million.

Amid the rumors linking him to PSG, Defensa Central reports that Van Dijk’s representatives have offered him to Real Madrid for the second time. Negotiations for a new deal with Liverpool remain unresolved, and the Spanish club has made it clear that they are not interested.

Reports linking the veteran defender to a Spanish club aren’t exclusive to Real Madrid as the Dutchman is also linked to Barcelona.

According to Fichajes, the Catalan side plans to offer van Dijk a two-year contract, hoping to convince him to accept a competitive project despite financial limitations.

The deal will depend on the Dutchman’s willingness to adjust his salary expectations, as his current wages at Liverpool are high, and the club continues to navigate financial constraints.

David Ornstein of The Athletic previously reported that those involved are downplaying the chances of Van Dijk moving to PSG, with Liverpool confident he will sign an extension.

More recently, ESPN’s Julien Laurens echoed this sentiment, noting that a deal is far from close despite the Liverpool captain chatting with PSG’s sporting advisor after the second leg between the Reds and the capital club.
