Real Madrid stars begin their second consecutive week of holiday this Monday following their participation in the Club World Cup.
The squad is scheduled to return to work on 4 August, for the preparations for the new season, starting with medical check-ups.
Now, COPE’s Melchor Ruiz reports that Real Madrid will reopen negotiations with superstar Vinicius Jr. over a new contract once he returns from his holiday.
The 25-year-old attacker’s renewal situation has sparked some concern of late as no progress has been achieved despite talks being held.
Vinicius’ current contract expires in the summer of 2027 and the Brazilian is seeking a high salary to extend his contract.

Real Madrid, however, are unwilling to meet the forward’s wage request as they do not wish to break the salary structure within the club – leading to an impasse.
Given the situation, Saudi Arabia have once again begun probing into the possibility of signing Vinicius, with a world-record bid worth €350 million said to be in the works.
As such, Real Madrid now plan to restart negotiations with Vinicius and his camp over a new deal once he returns from his vacation.
The Merengues, for their part, do not wish to lose one of their biggest superstars but at the same time, remain firm that the salary structure will not be broken to appease him.
So, it will be interesting to see how the situation evolves in the coming weeks. If a renewal agreement is not reached, it is not ruled out that Real Madrid might part ways with Vinicius next year.
