La Liga giants Real Madrid are set to be afforded an imminent update on prime transfer target Alphonso Davies’ future with Bayern Munich.

That’s according to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, who has on Sunday provided the latest on Davies’ situation in Bavaria.

Amid the club’s ongoing efforts to tie their star left-back down to fresh terms, the Bayern brass, it is understood, have informed Davies’ entourage that they require a definitive decision on his future this coming week.

The Bundesliga champions have made clear that they will not meet the €20 million-per-year demands laid out by the Canadian and his team, adamant that the current five-year, €14 million-per-term deal on the table marks their last.

Should an accord between the parties not be found by the week’s end, Davies will therefore be placed on the market, with a view to the summer transfer window.

And the Real Madrid hierarchy, of course, will be ready to pounce.

Though they are currently unwilling to meet Bayern’s alleged €50 million price-tag, Los Blancos are understood to be quietly confident of a compromise on a fee ultimately being found.
