Real Madrid have completed some massive signings this summer and are on the verge of closing some more with Alvaro Carreras likely being the next one to be announced.

As they look for replacements and reinforcements in midfield, it is thus not surprising that they are considering options who can arrive at a lower fee as well in addition to the standard Galactico signings they are on the lookout for.

Nico Paz, on that front, is one player who has seriously tempted the Real Madrid administration as a player who can return home especially given his recent history at the club.

Decision expected soon

Real Madrid have been in contact with the academy sensation for a few weeks now and have conveyed their interest in signing him back as an option for the new manager. The player, however, has had doubts over returning.

As relayed by Fabrizio Romano in a recent report, Los Blancos will make a final decision soon on the Nico Paz situation and clarity can be expected swiftly.

More contacts will follow in the coming days as Real Madrid can bring the Argentine star back for just €8 million. The buy-back clause, needless to say, is a bargain in today’s market given his high ceiling.

Internal talks are taking place with Xabi Alonso over the role he expects from a new midfielder and it is also likely that the manager will have a personal word with the player if he deems him to be a good fit.

Nico, for his part, wants to know what kind of role he will have in the team if he ends up returning to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Meanwhile, Como hope to keep the 20-year-old for at least one more season before his inevitable move back to Spain, but there is now a sense of urgency in Madrid to secure the youngster’s ticket back home. The coming days will be critical.
