The situation is further complicated by Manchester United’s involvement, as the club has been looking to strengthen its defence and sees Porro as a strong candidate to fill the right-back position.

Ruben Amorim the key for United

A key factor in United’s interest is the arrival of Ruben Amorim, the Portuguese coach who has a history with Porro from their time together at Sporting CP. During their partnership, Porro made 98 appearances, scoring 12 goals and providing 20 assists.

His performances were crucial to Amorim’s tactical system, which highlights Porro’s offensive qualities and his ability to contribute to attacking plays.

This connection between the player and coach could give Manchester United an edge in the race for his signature. Real Madrid and Manchester City are also in the mix, both eyeing the player as a potential addition to their squads.

Tottenham standing firm

Meanwhile, Tottenham’s chairman, Daniel Levy, has set a €70m price tag for the player, reflecting his importance to the team and his impressive performances in the Premier League.

While Spurs have invested heavily in Porro, his consistent displays have not gone unnoticed by the European giants. Real Madrid view Porro as a potential replacement for Dani Carvajal, with the club seeking a long-term option at right-back.

At the same time, Manchester City could see him as a future successor to Kyle Walker. However, Manchester United may hold a unique advantage, as Porro is familiar with Amorim’s playing style and could seamlessly fit into the attacking approach that the coach aims to implement.
