Real Madrid threaten not to play Copa del Rey final | OneFootball

An incredible story is brewing in Spain on the eve of the upcoming Copa del Rey final.

This comes amid confirmation that Real Madrid are giving genuine consideration to not playing tomorrow’s fixture in Seville.

Drama has of course mounted in Spain’s capital once more across the day to date.

Owing to the inflammatory comments laid out by referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea and his team in their pre-match press conference, Real Madrid announced that they had cancelled the club’s media duties for the remainder of the day.

An ensuing statement was then released, in which Los Blancos accused the officials in question of ‘animosity and hostility towards Real Madrid’.

Florentino Pérez and co, it is understood, are now actively pushing the RFEF to completely replace the refereeing team for Saturday’s La Cartuja showpiece.

And if such demands are not met, Real could yet take extreme action…

As per a report from El Chiringuito TV:

‘REAL MADRID could NOT PLAY in the CUP FINAL. If they are not convinced by the RFEF’s response, the expedition will return to Madrid tomorrow morning.’
