Mauro Icardi is reported to be the man Real Madrid want to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portuguese superstar left Los Blancos after nine years, joining Juventus in a stunning €100m move.
The reigning European champions are now on a mission to find a striker that can fill the gap left by the Ballon d’Or winner.
Eden Hazard, Kylian Mbappé and Neymar have all been linked with Julen Lopetegui’s men over the past few weeks.
But a new report in Marca on Saturday has claimed that Icardi is one of the club’s main targets during this window.
The Argentina international is believed to be one of Madrid’s more cost-effective options – with the Nerazzurri thought to be willing to accept offers in the region of €120m.
The 25-year-old has previously stated that he sees himself with Luciano Spalletti’s outfit for the long-term, but the Spanish paper indicates that the Santiago Bernabéu club are confident they can get their man.
Icardi was in sensational form last season for Inter, netting 29 Serie A goals as they qualified for the Champions League on the final match day.
