Jude Bellingham’s blistering run of form for Real Madrid this season has caught everyone’s attention. But as national teams begin preparing for the UEFA Euro 2024, there is a fear in the England camp that the run of fixtures this season might affect his persisting shoulder injury during the tournament.

According to the The Times (h/t Mundo Deportivo), the England national team camp is keeping a keen eye on the midfielder’s shoulder problem and they are of the idea that he might end up paying a price if he continues to play at this level throughout the season.

England fear that they might lose their best man

Concerns loom on the English camo regarding a potential setback for Bellingham, posing a threat to his involvement in the upcoming Euros or the risk of him entering the competition with declined physical prowess due to his extensive playing schedule.

Bellingham’s shoulder issue requires him to undergo surgery, although a final decision regarding the same is not taken yet. But if the midfielder goes down this route, it could affect his involvement at the Euros, as any procedure will not be done during the season.

Should this scenario unfold, England’s prospects in the continental competition would significantly diminish.

As for Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti, the manager considers the midfielder absolutely indispensable, granting him rest only out of necessity, especially after the midfielder suffered a shoulder dislocation.

This injury has compelled the Englishman to compete with protective measures in that specific area, a development that has not escaped the attention of observers in England.

Bellingham also dealing with an ankle issue?

Right before the home match against Granada, reports emerged that Bellingham was dealing with an ankle issue, leading to the suggestion that he might not feature in the game.

The midfielder did not complete full training leading up to the game but Ancelotti did not back out in selecting his talisman.

Bellingham went on to complete the full 90 minutes, but this goes on to show that England might very well be right about their concern.

This is mostly because the second half of the season is likely to be more gruelling, making Bellingham prone to physical issues.

While it remains to be seen how Real Madrid manage it, this indeed remains a cause of concern for everyone involved.
