A report from Spanish publication MARCA has affirmed that Vinicius Jr could start from the beginning against Las Palmas in Real Madrid’s upcoming home match, to be played on Wednesday, September 27.

We reported earlier that Vinicius, along with Arda Guler, recently took part in the training session today.

The initial plan for the Brazilian was to be in the matchday squad for the derby against Atletico Madrid but ended up not making it for the game. But, he is now expected to return against Las Palmas instead.

What happened against Atletico Madrid

Sensations regarding Vinicius were quite positive as Real Madrid prepared to take on Atletico this Sunday.

The 23-year-old was expected to make it to the matchday squad and while he was indeed included on the initial squad list, the Brazilian was later pulled out due to gastroenteritis.

”Vini Jr. has dropped out of our matchday squad for #AtletiRealMadrid,” read a statement from the club.

Real Madrid working strategically

It has been iterated that Real Madrid have been working quite strategically with Vinicius. Although he has achieved full fitness, the coaching staff does not want to risk anything.

It must be noted that the 23-year-old forward played just three league games before being ruled out for a month owing to a hamstring issue.

However, the setback he endured with a torn femoral biceps in his left leg against Celta Vigo is now in the rearview mirror.

As a result, a flawlessly fine-tuned comeback has now been planned and if everything goes as planned, Vinicius, who was recently included in Brazil’s squad for next month’s World Cup qualifiers, can be named in the starting XI against Las Palmas.

And if that’s the case, it will be positive news for Real Madrid not only because their previous result wasn’t positive but also because the upcoming line of fixtures is going to require a major squad strength.

If everything aligns well, fans can see him back in action at the Santiago Bernabeu this Wednesday.
