Real Madrid kicked off their La Liga campaign with a narrow but important 1-0 win over Osasuna, a match that also marked the debut of all four of the club’s summer signings.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen, and Alvaro Carreras were all named in the starting XI, while Franco Mastantuono was introduced later in the second half to complete the set.

For Los Blancos, it was not just about securing three points on the opening day, but also about giving fans a first glimpse of the new arrivals who are expected to play a key role throughout the season.

Each player reflected on their debut shortly after the match, sharing their excitement and emotions.

Franco Mastantuono, who came on in the second half, spoke with enthusiasm about his first minutes in a Real Madrid shirt.

“Incredible, incredible. The fans and the stadium are very impressive. It’s great to play here, I hope there are many more games here,” he said, clearly delighted with the occasion.

Trent Alexander-Arnold also expressed his joy at finally stepping onto the pitch for his new club.

“A great welcome. That’s what I felt from the first moment. I’m very happy to be here. We started the season with a good win.

The atmosphere was incredible, and the stadium was wonderful. It’s incredible to be here,” the Englishman stated.

Meanwhile, Carreras described the moment as the fulfilment of a long-held ambition. “What I expected. What I wanted from day one. I’m finally here with all my teammates,” he said.

Huijsen, too, highlighted his pride and joy. “Very proud. For me, it’s a dream. A good atmosphere, really, and the fans are very good. Very happy with the three points,” he explained.

With their debut now behind them, the four players will look to settle quickly into Xabi Alonso’s plans.

Following their win over Osasuna, Real Madrid have already turned their focus to their next fixture, which is an away clash against Oviedo on Sunday, August 24.
