Real Madrid striker Benzema: I've been good influence on Vinicius Jr
Tribal Football
Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema says he's been a positive influence on young teammate Vinicius Junior.
The Frenchman has been one of, if not the most important player, at Real Madrid in recent times and has helped develop those around him, including Brazilian youngster Vinicius.
"I try to make the others better," he told France Football.
"Let's take Vinicius for example. I know I've helped him.
"You have to ask questions of him and he's not the same player today as he was when he came in.
"He's performing like he should have been doing some time ago.
"He's a good, young player. You just have to talk to him. I know that he was capable of doing a lot more.
"With two or three comments on the pitch, in two or three movements, I showed him things, especially in the final third.
"He needs to make decisions himself about whether to pass or shoot. He needs to get his head up and look forward.
"He's doing that now and we're seeing the real Vinicius."
