Real Madrid defensive starlet Marvel is expected to leave the club this summer with his cycle with Castilla seemingly coming to an end.

The 21-year-old centre-back has made more than 50 appearances for Castilla and has trained with the senior team on occasions while he was also a part of the matchday squad for a Copa del Rey clash back in 2022/23.

But with his contract expiring in 2025, Real Madrid have opted to part ways with Marvel this summer.

No move to Saudi Arabia

Earlier this week, reports suggested that Marvel was attracting interest from Saudi Arabia and was considering the approach from clubs from the Middle Eastern nation.

However, now, journalist Jorge C Picon reports that despite the lure of Saudi Arabia, Marvel prefers to continue his career in Spain when he leaves Real Madrid this summer.

The 21-year-old left-footed centre-back is said to have three clubs from the Spanish second division chasing him and those are the options he is giving consideration to at this moment rather than moving to Saudi.

Despite the lack of senior defenders in the first-team squad at the moment, Carlo Ancelotti does not seem to count on Marvel.

Instead, the Italian tactician has turned towards Jacobo Ramon, who has been registered with La Liga, as well as Raul Asencio to shore up his defensive resources.

As such, it makes sense for Marvel to move on from Real Madrid, although it is likely that the Merengues will include a buyback option and a future sell-on clause for the centre-back like they do with all the youngsters leaving the club.
