Real Madrid star speaks out on future after Barcelona victory | OneFootball

A key member of the defensive ranks at Real Madrid on Sunday night provided an insight into his future with the club.

Real, of course, are fresh off an evening to remember.

After welcoming arch rivals Barcelona to the Spanish capital, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops twice battled from behind to ultimately emerge on the right side of a 3-2 result.

Establishing himself as something of a surprise hero en route to as much, meanwhile, was Blancos defender Lucas Vázquez.

Amid a scintillating display in the Clásico, the 32-year-old played a direct hand in all three of his side’s goals.

Vázquez first won a penalty for a jinking run into the Barcelona box, before turning goalscorer for Real Madrid’s 2nd, and then laying on Jude Bellingham’s 90th-minute winner courtesy of a fine ball across the face of goal.

Post-match, however, his exploits on Sunday were quickly put to one side, as the versatile Spaniard’s future took its place front and centre.

Vázquez’s current terms at the Santiago Bernabéu are set to come to an end in the summer, with it unclear as of yet whether the parties are close to an agreement regarding an extension.

When drawn on the subject after his electric performance against Barcelona, the Blancos fan favourite, in turn, admitted:

“My future? I don’t know what will happen. We are only focused on what’s left of the season.”
