Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr. answered his critics in style during the 2-1 victory over Mallorca at the Santiago Bernabeu.

After being left on the bench in the previous game against Osasuna, the Brazilian responded in the best possible way, delivering one of his most complete performances of the season.

His trademark speed and dribbling caused constant problems for Mallorca’s defence, but it was his goal that truly stood out.

With the score level, Vinicius produced a brilliant finish to restore Madrid’s lead, proving once again why he remains one of the team’s most decisive players.

Xabi Alonso’s message

Beyond his attacking spark, he also impressed with his work off the ball, tracking back and pressing aggressively – something Xabi Alonso has been demanding from all his forwards.

After the match, Alonso made sure to highlight Vini’s effort in the dressing room.

“If you play like this, committed in defence and decisive in attack, you’re unstoppable,” the coach told him, as per Defensa Central.

The Brazilian left the pitch smiling, knowing he had regained his coach’s full trust.

Rest, recovery and future at Madrid

Vinicius will now benefit from the international break, as he has not been included in Brazil’s squad.

While others travel for World Cup qualifiers, he will remain in the Spanish capital to rest and continue training.

For Alonso, this is a big advantage, as it allows him to keep one of his key attackers fresh for the upcoming run of fixtures.

However, there is another issue lingering in the background, which is his contract situation. Negotiations with Real Madrid have stalled in recent weeks.

The positive news for Madrid fans is that he wants to stay at the Bernabeu for many years.

Both the club and the player are expected to find common ground, and performances like the one against Mallorca only strengthen his case as a long-term cornerstone of Real Madrid’s future.
