Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. this afternoon continued his ascent up the goalscoring charts in La Liga.
Real, of course, are fresh off securing a return to winning ways, at the expense of Osasuna.
En route to an eventual 4-0 triumph in the Spanish capital, it was Vinícius who proved himself the star of the show, courtesy of a brilliant hat-trick.
After dancing his way into the penalty area before lashing home a fine finish to open the scoring in the clash, the Brazilian then broke the Osasuna backline with an explosive run for his 2nd, before slotting home from close range to round out the scoring midway through the 2nd-half.
In the process, Vinícius took his tally for the campaign in Spain’s top-flight to eight goals.
This is good enough for 2nd in the goalscoring charts, the 24-year-old having leapfrogged fellow countryman Raphinha of Barcelona, as well as Villarreal standout Ayoze Pérez in one 90 minutes.
