Real Madrid striker Luka Jović admits his style doesn’t involve pressing defenders for 90 minutes.

Jović enjoyed a breakthrough 2018/19 season for Eintracht Frankfurt, scoring 27 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions.

That was enough to earn him a €60m move to Los Blancos, but the 21-year-old insists he prefers to outsmart the opposition instead of forcing his way through.

“I like smart players and that’s why I try to play with my head,” he told 11Freunde.

“When I was 15 years old, I was playing against people who were 18 and scoring 40 goals per season. My body helped me a lot.

“I’m not a fighter who can go around pressing for 90 minutes,” the Serbia international added. “I like the simple things.

“I want to only use my physicality when I am not able to dominate with my mind.”

Jović is expected to deputise behind Karim Benzema next season as he continues his development.
