A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has racked up more passes into the final third than any other player in the Spanish top-flight this season.
The player in question? Federico Valverde.
Uruguayan international Valverde has taken yet another step up in prominence in Carlo Ancelotti’s Real squad over the early weeks of the new term.
With Toni Kroos having hung up his boots, and Luka Modrić playing more of a backup role, the 26-year-old is shouldering more responsibility than ever at the Santiago Bernabéu.
And, on top of passing the eye test, Valverde’s exploits are backed by the numbers, too.
As revealed by statisticians StatMuse, across the opening nine weeks of the season, ‘Federico Valverde has the most final third passes in La Liga, with 200’.
Yet another testament to the all-round excellence of Los Blancos’ engine room standout, who has also chipped in with three goals and two assists across all competitions in 2024/25.
