A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is a doubt to feature in the return leg of the club’s Champions League quarter-final tie with Arsenal.
That’s according to Marca, who point towards Ferland Mendy as the player in question.
Defender Mendy is for his part of course in the midst of a spell on the sidelines, through injury.
Owing to a hamstring problem suffered during the 2nd leg of the club’s Champions League Last-16 tie versus Atlético Madrid, the Frenchman has been forced to sit out each of Real’s last four fixtures.
This run is set to continue on Tuesday, when Los Blancos make the trip to north London for a meeting with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then Mendy’s status for the tie’s 2nd leg remains very much up in the air, too.
As per Marca, the left-back is still considered as injured, therefore a doubt to play any part in the Champions League’s quarter-finals.
