Real Madrid have come back in recent months and are back on track, competing for all titles as they should.

Their poor start to the season, however, continues to haunt fans and it is clear that there is still no confidence in Carlo Ancelotti’s men who look as fragile as they have looked in recent years.

The team’s poor form at the beginning of the season and the instability has cost them dearly in terms of the valuation of players in the dressing room.

It has now come to light that the squad has fallen in value by €133.5 million following the latest update of market values by experts Transfermarkt.

Drops all across

14 of Real Madrid’s 23 players have seen a fall in transfer market value with Kylian Mbappe, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Eder Militao and Endrick all losing valuation by €20 million each.

The case of some including Mbappe and Tchouameni can be explained to be due to their poor form while others like Militao and Camavinga suffered owing to their prolonged injuries.

The other losers include Rodrygo who dropped by €10 million, Brahim Diaz, David Alaba and Andriy Lunin who lost €5 million each and Ferland Mendy who dropped by €4 million.

Dani Carvajal’s ACL injury saw him drop by €2 million while Luka Modric, Antonio Rudiger and Lucas Vazquez dropped by a cumulative of €2.5 million.

While most of the dressing room dropped in valuation, the likes of Vinicius Jr, Dani Ceballos, Fran Garcia, Arda Guler, Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham and Thibaut Courtois all remained unchanged in their valuation.

Notably, only one player saw an increase in his stocks – Raul Asencio – who stepped up to the occasion and proved his worth as an able defensive presence.

The defender’s rise by €7.2 million partially offsets the gross depreciation and brings the net fall to around €125 million.
