Real Madrid have made it their business to be in the race for the world’s most talented teenagers, as evidenced by their signing of Endrick Felipe and pursuit of Leny Yoro. The next in line is River Plate’s 16-year-old starlet Franco Mastantuono.
Los Blancos have been heavily linked with Mastantuono for some time, and have reportedly not only sealed the approval of the player, but personal terms with him. Despite reports that they had made a €25m bid for Mastantuono last month though, The Athletic say Real Madrid have not made any offers for him though.
Mastantuono has a €45m release clause, and his current River deal expires at the end of 2026, meaning the Argentine giants are likely keen to wrap up a sale in the next 12 months. Real Madrid have also made it a policy of theirs not to immediately pay release clauses though too, and will likely try to negotiate for him.
