Real Madrid are quickly heading toward a coaching change, with Carlo Ancelotti ever so close to accepting the Brazil job, and Xabi Alonso waiting in the wings to succeed him. The switch will lead to a significant overhaul of the squad, which could affect a few Serie A sides and their transfer market strategies, Calciomercato relays.
Como recently admitted that they are at the mercy of Los Galacticos regarding the future of Nico Paz, given the buy-back clause. The talks to remove it haven’t been fruitful. Los Blancos were leaning toward leaving him to the Lariani for one more season to let him mature fully, but the plan could change under a new boss. Moreover, it’s a lot more unlikely that they’ll sell him to another side. Inter have long been coveting him.
The new Real Madrid era could also upset Milan’s apple cart. Alex Jimenez has been gaining increasingly consistent minutes following a tactical adjustment, as he’s been performing well. However, there’s a €9M ‘recompra’ hanging over his head too. The Rossoneri have been haggling to keep him too.
Instead, Juventus could benefit, as the Spanish giants have Dean Huijsen on their radar. He has a €60M release clause. The Bianconeri, who sold him to Bournemouth for €16M last summer, have a 10 percent resale clause, which could net them up to €6M more. Real Madrid will focus on rejuvenating the midfield and on finding a younger pure no.9 next summer after not replacing Joselu.
