In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Real Madrid have set their sights on Lille forward Jonathan David. It has been mentioned that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to secure the signature of the Canadian striker this summer.

David’s Impressive Record At Stade Pierre Mauroy

David had a productive campaign at Lille recently as he was responsible for scoring a lot of crucial goals for them in the Ligue 1. The Brooklyn-born sensation banged in 19 goals in 47 appearances for his current employers last season in various competitions.

The 22-year-old proved himself to be a decent performer in the final third after he averaged 1.9 shots, 0.9 key passes and 0.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in Ligue 1. He was even accurate when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half as he completed 78.3% of his attempted passes in the French first division (stats via whoscored).

What Will David Add To Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti’s Side?

David can lead the line well on his own and is proficient at timing his runs well in behind the opponent’s defence. He proved his worth as a decent finisher in front of the opposition goal but needs to find a way to contribute more in terms of his playmaking in the attacking end of the field. David is versatile enough to play up top on his own or with someone else operating beside him.

Still, there is no denying that he could be a clever addition to Real Madrid‘s squad this summer. David is good enough to offer some healthy competition for Karim Benzema, who played at the peak of his powers at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium last season.

At 22, the Canadian forward has the potential to become a regular starter at the Madrid club. Hence, Carlo Ancelotti would be wise to move in for him in this off-season as he will add more firepower to his attack.

All in all, David could help Los Blancos compete for even more trophies over the next few years which makes him an attractive option for Ancelotti to consider during this summer transfer window.
