Following the exit of Nacho Fernandez and Rafa Marin, coupled with David Alaba’s relentless woes with injury, Real Madrid have drawn a clear plan to reinforce the defensive unit this summer.

Their two objectives are to sign a new centre-back, who can replace Nacho in the years to come and a left-back, who can add more competition to Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia.

Alphonso Davies and Leny Yoro have emerged as two of Real Madrid’s desired targets, but acquiring their services have proven quite tricky so far.

Real Madrid’s budget for Yoro & Davies

Real Madrid have faced a familiar issue in the pursuit of both Davies and Yoro. Both their parent clubs are holding out for a hefty price tag even though their contracts expire in 2025.

Lille, for one, have been holding out for a fee of €60 million for the services of Yoro whereas Bayern Munich have sounded out a similar price tag for Davies.

Keeping that in mind, Real Madrid have set aside a strict budget of €90 million for the pursuit of Yoro and Davies, reports SPORT.

The club do not agree with Lille and Bayern’s high valuation for the player and are actively trying to lower their asking price.

What if Real Madrid miss out on Yoro & Davies?

In the event Real Madrid miss out on the capture of Leny Yoro and Alphonso Davies this summer, the club have plan to sign them for free next summer.

Knowing both the players’ contracts expire in 2025, Real Madrid are aware that they have the upper hand in the pursuit.

As it stands, the European champions are in no rush to either and are more than willing to wait it out, if it means they can get their hands on the defensive duo for free.

Time is running out for both Lille and Bayern. Both clubs must soon make a decision on whether or not they are ready to lower the valuation. If not, they could run the risk of losing their star players for free next summer.
