The brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid recently sent scouts to watch the performance of a member of the midfield ranks at Premier League outfit Crystal Palace.

That’s according to Marca, citing the Daily Mail, who point towards Adam Wharton as the player in question.

Wharton, for his part, has spent recent weeks reestablishing himself as one of the lead talking points of English football.

Having put a lingering injury concern behind him, the 21-year-old has taken his place back at the base of Crystal Palace’s midfield ranks.

And Wharton has not missed a step since, providing a reminder of why he has so long been tipped as a potential superstar in the making.

A number of leading Premier League clubs are understood to be keeping a close eye on his development, with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City having even considered a move for the youngster in the aftermath of Rodri’s injury.

As alluded to above, though, English sides are not the only ones keen, with Real Madrid having also had their attentions piqued.

As per Marca:

‘Thomas Tuchel has not been the only one to go see him at Selhurst Park recently… also scouts from Real Madrid.’

It now remains to be seen if such interest develops into a formal offer on the part of Los Blancos.
