Former Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo on Thursday continued to etch his name ever further into the history books of world football.
As much comes owing to his exploits on the international stage.
Ronaldo is currently locked in action, in the colours of his native Portugal.
Afforded a starting berth in the country’s Nations League meeting with Croatia, the Al-Nassr star was joined in a star-studded XI by the likes of Bernardo Silva, Bruno Fernandes and Rafael Leão.
And Ronaldo made use of as much to add to his goalscoring tally at international level once more.
After Diogo Dalot put Portugal in front inside the opening ten minutes, CR7 doubled the advantage for Roberto Martínez’s men just beyond the half-hour mark.
And, in the process, he secured yet another remarkable individual milestone.
As confirmed by a host of sources late on Thursday, Ronaldo has now racked up an eye-watering 900 goals in professional football:
And this achievement has since quickly been recognised by the club with whom almost exactly half of these goals were scored, in Real Madrid:
‘Another historic milestone: 900 goals in the professional career of one of the greatest legends of Real Madrid and world football. Congratulations, dear and admired @Cristiano! Real Madrid and the Madrid fans are always proud of you.’
