Sky Sports have recently confirmed in a report that Real Madrid have successfully secured the signing of AS Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni in this off season. He now prepares to arrive at Santiago Bernabeu in what has been a transfer deal worth 80 million euros.
Tchouameni has proven his class in French football during this campaign as he managed to produce impressive displays for Monaco in the central areas of the pitch. The 22-year-old has scored five goals and secured three assists in 50 matches for the French club this season across all fronts.
The Rouen-born talent has consistently performed throughout the season at the defensive and offensive end of the pitch based on his average of 2.5 tackles, 2.9 interceptions, 0.9 clearances, 1.6 shots, 0.6 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per game in Ligue 1. He has even distributed the ball well after completing 86.7% of his attempted passes in the French top-flight (stats via whoscored).

Tchouameni is a tenacious defensive midfielder who can time his tackles to secure the ball back from the opposition at the centre of the park. He doesn’t mind-clearing his lines when the danger is looming and can make a few decent runs with the ball from midfield.
The France international has contributed by finding the back of the net and setting up his teammates in front of the goal. However, at 22, he would need time to polish his skills before he could rise to the top of Europe.
Tchouameni’s addition to the squad is a brilliant move from Real Madrid’s boss Carlo Ancelotti. He would prove to be a great understudy for Casemiro and Luka Modric, serving as a long term successor for the Brazilian midfield ace.
The fans could expect Tchouameni to feature in the pre-season tournament to showcase his talents as they make their way to the United States.
