Earlier this month, Mane Diaz, the father of Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz, opened the door for the footballer to secure a future move to Spain, with Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid as possible destinations.

“There was never anything serious with Real Madrid or Atlético [in 2022]. Liverpool were always more determined and concrete to sign Luis,” he told Cadena SER (h/t Mirror).

“We haven’t lost our hope yet…. Luis is playing well and Spanish clubs are always active in the market,” he added.

These comments sparked chatter in the media about a possible move to Real Madrid for Luis Diaz, but it appears that the Merengues have no such plans on the agenda.

Real Madrid rule out Luis Diaz move

Indeed, as per Defensa Central, Real Madrid have definitively ruled out a move for Luis Diaz, terming the possibility of that happening as ‘impossible’.

“He is a great player… but right now there is no room, it is impossible to sign anyone higher up,” sources from the club commented on the matter.

A move for Diaz at this moment makes no sense for Real Madrid considering that they already have Vinicius Jr. occupying the left flank and are set to welcome Kylian Mbappe into the squad in the summer.

Furthermore, Endrick will also be arriving from Palmeiras to boost the attacking unit even more.

So, as things stand, there does not appear to be any room for any other attacking signings at the Santiago Bernabeu, unless there are any surprise departures, which looks extremely unlikely.

Diaz, 27, has done well since joining Liverpool in January 2022 and has been in decent nick this season, racking up 11 goals and five goals from 39 matches. However, a move to Real Madrid will not be on the cards anytime soon.
