Real Madrid are keeping an eye on Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, according to Spanish outlet Defensa Central, as cited by The Hard Tackle.
The report states that the Spanish giants could attempt to sign the 22-year-old come next summer.
Alexander-Arnold’s current deal does not expire until the summer of 2025.
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
We would not be shocked if Real Madrid are genuinely interested in Alexander-Arnold. The Scouser is a top player after all.
Alexander-Arnold is a defender by trade. However, the right-back is terrific going forward.
Alexander-Arnold has scored 10 goals and registered 47 assists in 184 appearances for Liverpool’s first-team.
However, we don’t see Alexander-Arnold and Liverpool ever wanting to part ways. The reality is, the defender has represented the Reds since 2004.
Alexander-Arnold is straight out of Liverpool’s academy. The right-back has won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Premier League title in the past two years with the Reds.
Alexander-Arnold is winning trophies with his boyhood club. The Scouser has no reason to want to leave the club.
Also, Liverpool have no reason to sell Alexander-Arnold. As we have already pointed out, the defender has played well for the club’s first-team over the years.
Alexander-Arnold signed a new deal with the Reds during the 2021 summer transfer window, which highlights that both parties want each other equally.
