Five years ago, Real Madrid signed Reinier Jesus from Flamengo for a fee of €30 million hoping that the then 18-year-old would turn into one of world football’s most valued assets.
The player, however, saw season after season pass without making his debut for the first team and ended up spending all five seasons on loan – two at Borussia Dortmund and one each at Girona, Frosinone and Granada.
Reinier is now back after the completion of his latest loan deal to link up with Real Madrid to whom he continues to be contractually obligated. Unfortunately, however, he does not appear to be in the club’s plans at any level.
While it has been clear for a long time now that the Brazilian star is not skilled enough for the Real Madrid first team, one would have expected him to play a part for the Castilla side at least.

As relayed by AS, however, Reinier has not even been called up by Alvaro Arbeloa to join the B team for their pre-season and is thus stranded at the lowest point in his career.
Not in the plans of the Castilla and still far from his debut for the first team, the Brazilian star is under pressure to look for a new club this summer. If not, Los Blancos do not rule out a contract termination.
At the moment, Real Madrid are not directly handling any negotiations on the player’s part for he is not in the dynamics of any of the teams in various divisions.
Should the player not find an interested party, Florentino Perez will not hesitate to hand him the letter of contract termination despite his deal running out only next summer.
In the last five and a half seasons, Reinier has scored just seven goals and played under 4000 minutes of football across his loan destinations. His transfer value, as it stands, is at an all-time career low.
